Bennett & McMahon, based on the Wirral, was formed in 1994, by Mike McMahon and Ralph Bennett, specialising in the African continent, focusing on UK exports and Cross-Trades. Since its formation the business has expanded into other trade lanes and logistics activities, but still remains one of the leading UK Forwarding businesses in the African market.

The acquisition complements the existing service offering of Denholm Global Logistics, which focuses heavily on the Far East and import market. The purchase also brings with it an experienced senior management team, headed by Mike McMahon, who has been appointed Managing Director of Denholm Global Logistics.

Denholm Logistics Group, based in Liverpool and led by family member, Niall Denholm, provides all aspects of Logistics, and operates businesses not only in Forwarding, but also Warehousing, Distribution, Port Agency and Vessel Chartering. The business has experienced significant growth in recent years both organic, and by acquisition, including expansion into Ireland by the purchase of Hamilton Shipping.

Therefore the business views the acquisition of Bennett & McMahon Agencies, as an exciting opportunity, and a further strategic step in strengthening its position within the UK & Irish logistics market.
