Every year since 2012, HAROPA has evaluated vessels calling its three ports and recognized shipping companies attaining high scores on the Environmental Ship Index (ESI). * NYK was one of 12 shipping lines recognized for 2015.

NYK will continue its efforts to contribute to the realization of a global environment and sustainable society, aiming to be a leading company in the safety and environmental field.

* Environmental Ship Index (ESI)

An index administered by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) to measure a ship’s emissions based on the amount of nitrogen oxide (NOX), sulphur oxide (SOX), particulate matter (PM), and greenhouse gas released.
