A specialist jury had shortlisted four shipping lines as finalists in the category. From among this pool, the readers of the Hong Kong-based shipping and logistics journal Asia Cargo News selected the winner. The finalists were rated among other things on their compliance with national and global environmental regulations and standards, investments in new environmental technologies and measures to minimize fuel consumption.

“Sustainability is an indispensable part of Hamburg Süd’s corporate philosophy. We are therefore delighted that our continued commitment in this area is being recognized for the fifth time and we would like to thank all customers who again voted for us this year,” says Stefan Kirschner, Regional Manager Region Asia-Pacific at Hamburg Süd.

The award was accepted on behalf of Hamburg Süd by Silke Sehgal, Area Manager South East Asia at Hamburg Süd, before an audience of several hundred high-ranking representatives of the Asian and international shipping, transport and logistics sector in the Marina Bay Cruise Centre in Singpore.
