The candidates for the Best Container Terminal Asia in the under 4 million TEUs category included CICT, Busan New Container Terminal, and Jakarta International Container Terminal.

The AFLAS awards is organized by Singapore-based freight and logistics publication Asia Cargo News, and is bestowed based on the online ballots from Asia Cargo News readers.

The CICT is a joint venture between China Merchant Holding International and the Sri Lanka Port Authority, and achieved over 1.5 million TEUs in 2015.
